GOLD LIPS By Man Ray (1890-1975) The Surrealist artists Man Ray and Lee Miller lived together in Paris between 1929 and 1932, first as teacher and student, and later as lovers. After they split up, Man Ray used images of Lee Miller's eyes and lips as motifs in his photography, paintings and sculpture. Man Ray's solid gold sculpture of Lee Miller's lips, made after 1933, is the inspiration for this pin. The original is in the collection of the Man Ray trust.
